Warwickshire Wedding Photographer
Natural, relaxed wedding photography for camera-shy couples across Warwickshire, Stratford-upon-Avon, Leamington Spa, Warwick and the surrounding Midlands.
Looking for a Warwickshire wedding photographer who captures natural moments without awkward posing? You're in the right place.
Hi, I'm Jemma, a Warwickshire wedding photographer specialising in relaxed, natural wedding photography for couples who want to enjoy their day rather than spend it standing in front of a camera.
Having grown up in Warwickshire and lived here for most of my life, I know the area incredibly well. From beautiful countryside venues and historic market towns to hidden photo spots and scenic backdrops, Warwickshire offers some of the most beautiful wedding locations in the UK.
My approach is simple: no forced smiles, no endless posing and no pressure to perform for the camera. Instead, I focus on capturing genuine moments and real emotions as they naturally unfold throughout your wedding day.
If you're worried about being camera-shy, you're exactly the kind of couple I love working with. Many of my couples tell me they feel awkward having their photo taken, but by building trust and helping you feel comfortable, you'll soon forget the camera is even there.
Why Get Married in Warwickshire
Warwickshire has an endless amount of countryside venues, meaning you are spoilt for choice when it comes to where, but the best thing … every venue offers something completely different! If you want an historic town, somewhere like Stratford-upon-Avon or Warwick, these can add many cool aspects to your photos and a great backdrop from Warwick Castle or the River Avon and Shakespeare’s House. Or maybe you want more of a barn style wedding, then places like The Meadow Barn, Swallows Nest Barn or even Blackwell Grange give you that cosy barn feel but with lots of lovely outdoor space as well. As well as all Warwickshire wedding venues being stunning from the outlook, they also offer a variety of wedding styles, from small or budget to big or family orientated, there are venues in Warwickshire to meet everyone’s style and need.
A few Warwickshire wedding venue examples to suit different styles/needs are; the Arden hotel, nestled right next to the River Avon in Stratford-upon-Avon, this is great for smaller weddings, you can wander around Stratford and get all those shakespearean building shots, but also feel secluded away from the rest of the town. Ashton Lodge Country House, in the countryside near rugby with beautiful grounds, a house and marquee, it has flower lined archways for photos and lanterns for the evening, gives the perfect countryside feel but only a short drive away from civilisation. Then you have somewhere like Billesley Manor Hotel, a large hotel venue with masses of grounds and a waterfall pond at the entrance, out of town, with more of a posh hotel vibe and accommodation for all your guests.

Nestled on the edge of the Cotswolds, the venue offers stunning views across the surrounding countryside, making it an incredible backdrop for natural wedding photography throughout the year. One of my favourite things about Mickleton Hills Farm is how much space couples have to enjoy their day with family and friends, without ever feeling rushed or confined to one area. Blackwell Grange
Blackwell Grange is one of the most popular wedding venues in the area, and it's easy to see why. Tucked away in the countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds, the venue combines rustic barn charm with a stylish and modern feel. The Henley Rooms
Situated in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, The Henley Rooms are perfect for intimate weddings. Being so close to Stratford's historic streets means couples can enjoy portraits amongst the town's beautiful architecture while still feeling tucked away from the crowds. One of my favourite things about this registry office venue is the balance it strikes between convenience and privacy. Couples can enjoy the atmosphere and character of Stratford-upon-Avon while still having a dedicated space to celebrate with family and friends.

A Friendly Wedding Photographer For Camera-Shy Couples
I like to describe myself as a ‘friendly and natural wedding photographer for camera shy couples’
If you’re not sure what that means … I capture all your special moments in a documentary style, naturally meaning that you will look back at your photos and you’ll remember the exact feeling you felt when that photo was taken. I don’t like posing you, so I keep it to a minimum, as there is nothing worse than you feeling awkward and not yourself. I will give you gentle direction if and when required, eg. moving your hand slightly if it doesn’t look like it’s in a natural position, that kind of thing. Ultimately I help camera shy couples feel comfortable and confident - just as you are!
Areas I cover as a Warwickshire Wedding Photographer
I regularly photograph weddings throughout Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Kenilworth, Rugby, Southam, Coventry and the wider Warwickshire area. I also cover weddings across the Cotswolds, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire and the wider Midlands.
Kind Words From Warwickshire Couples
Don't just take my word for it. Here are a few kind words from Warwickshire couples whose weddings I've had the privilege of photographing.
Lizzie & Elliot
St John's House, Warwick
“I can't even begin to explain how amazing Jemma was as our wedding photographer. Prior to booking her I'd read reviews about how great she was, and absolutely loved how relaxed people looked in all the photos with the fabulous editing style, but still didn't expect her to be as great as she was for us! Loads of our guests commented on how friendly she was, and she made us feel so comfortable behind the camera. I'm used to looking super awkward in photos and expected the same for our wedding photos, but was blown away by how amazing they were. My husband even commented that Jemma had made us look better than in real life! We had preview photos sent to us by Jemma less than 24 hours after our wedding which was amazing, and the photos are such great quality. Can't wait to get our full gallery, and will definitely be going back to Jemma in future to get more photos taken.”
Sophie & Tom
The Henley Room, Stratford-upon-Avon
“Jemma has been absolutely fantastic from start to finish, I can’t speak highly enough of her. She’s been great coming back to emails, answering any questions we have and making sure the day ran smoothly. We got married in Stratford-upon-Avon and she really knows the best spots for photos! She was so friendly on the day and made us feel at ease straight away. I’m not photogenic or comfortable in front of a camera but it was all so natural and nothing felt forced. She was great with the kids and our guests as well. The end result was some stunning photographs and amazing memories we can look back on. Thank you Jemma, you are amazing!”
Jess & Max
Mickleton Hills Farm
“Thanks so much for being a part of our day, you were truly fantastic! The exact right level of bossiness to get people in order but also blending into the background so we almost didn't know you were there! The photos so far are really beautiful and it's making me so excited for what's to come”

FAQ

How far do you travel?
I photograph weddings throughout Warwickshire and the surrounding areas at no additional cost. Being based in Warwickshire means I'm regularly photographing weddings in places such as Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Rugby and Kenilworth. For venues further afield, I may charge a small travel fee depending on the distance, but I'll always be completely transparent about any additional costs before you book. If you're unsure whether your venue falls within my travel area, just get in touch and I'll be happy to let you know.
Do you photograph small weddings?
Absolutely – I love small weddings! In fact, many of the weddings I photograph are intimate celebrations with close family and friends. There's something really special about smaller weddings. They often feel incredibly relaxed, personal and full of meaningful moments. One of the things I love most is that I get the chance to really get to know my couples and the people who matter most to them. Whether you're planning a registry office ceremony, an elopement or a small countryside celebration, every wedding deserves to be documented beautifully.
What if we're awkward in front of the camera?
Honestly? You're exactly my kind of couple! This is probably the question I'm asked most often, and it's actually one of the reasons many couples book me. Most of my couples tell me they're awkward in front of the camera before we meet, so you're definitely not alone. My approach is very relaxed and natural. I'll spend time getting to know you before your wedding day, and when it comes to taking photos, I'll guide you gently rather than putting you into stiff or uncomfortable poses. I love incorporating movement into my couple sessions, so instead of standing still and wondering what to do with your hands, you'll be walking, chatting, laughing and simply spending time together. By the end, it usually feels less like a photoshoot and more like a little break from the wedding day with a friend. The result is natural, genuine photographs that actually feel like you. Also, one of the main reason for most of my wedding packages having an engagement shoot is to meet you and also give you a chance to practice before the big day.
When should we book?
Whenever you're ready! For larger weddings, I generally recommend booking around 12–18 months in advance to give yourself the best chance of securing your date. For smaller weddings, more intimate celebrations or last-minute plans, anywhere from 6–12 months in advance is usually fine. If you're getting married during peak wedding season (typically June to September), I would always recommend enquiring as early as possible, regardless of the size of your wedding. These dates tend to book up quickly, and I'd hate for you to miss out on your favourite photographer simply because your date has already been taken. That said, it's always worth asking. Even if your wedding is only a few months away, there's a chance I may still have availability.
