Gemma & Adam’s Non-Traditional Spring Wedding in Stratford-upon-Avon


On a chilly March morning, Gemma and Adam tied the knot in a beautifully intimate ceremony at The Henley Rooms in Stratford-upon-Avon. Surrounded by just 9 of their closest family members, their wedding was a celebration of love, simplicity, and personality—perfectly tailored to them.


Breaking tradition from the get-go, the couple arrived together, with no “first look” moment needed—Adam had already seen his bride. And what a bride she was! Gemma looked incredible in a striking green dress, a bold and beautiful choice that perfectly suited the vibe of the day. She carried a stunning bouquet of green and cream dried flowers, which matched the gents’ buttonholes and added a touch of timeless elegance to the early spring palette.

The ceremony itself was short and sweet—just ten minutes long—but no less meaningful for its briefness. Inside the characterful Henley Rooms, vows were exchanged, happy laugher and smiles filled the room.


After a few quick portraits inside, we stepped out into the sunshine to take group photos outside Shakespeare’s house—a charming and fitting backdrop in the heart of Stratford. With the formal shots wrapped up, Gemma, Adam, and their son Charlie stayed behind while the rest of the family made their way to the reception venue in Burton on Trent.

This gave us time to wander through Stratford’s cobbled streets and along the riverside, capturing relaxed newlywed portraits and some sweet family moments. The spring sun may have been low and crisp, but it lit up the river beautifully as we found pockets of shade for those soft, romantic shots.


To wrap up the photo session, we headed to Boston Tea Party—an extra special spot for Gemma and Adam, as it’s where they got engaged last year. A glass of prosecco in hand, laughter in the air, and their little boy by their side—it was the perfect way to round off a truly personal day.


As I said my goodbyes, the trio made their way to join friends and family for a night of celebration. Gemma and Adam’s wedding was a gentle reminder that love doesn’t need grandeur—it just needs heart. And their day had that in abundance.
